Includes precision instrument makers who fabricate,modify, or repair mechanical instruments. Knowledge of mechanics,mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.**Essential Functions** Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner and complieswith company policies. Determine the uses of personal protective equipment (PPE); identifythe safety equipment and procedures related to safe work practicesand surrounding environment. Able to run and complete parts using the MRP Network. Use the MRP system to clock in and out of jobs upon set-up andcompletion, also knowledge of MRP to look ahead on up-coming jobsand machine set-up mill and lathe set-up. Maintaining and filling out of quality sheets to verify parttolerances. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shopmathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. Confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel inorder to exchange technical information. Confer with numerical control programmers in order to check andensure that new programs or machinery will function properly, andthat output will meet specifications. Calculate hole-pattern layouts, threading information, inspectingand quality control, and CNC programming. Help plan a sequence for machining operations, aligning work pieces,use work holding devices, jigs and fixtures, performing threadingoperation on lathes and millsand perform other procedures such asI.D. boring and facing operations. Learn metallurgical terms and definitions in an effort to understandthe behavior and service of metals in industry, also characteristicsduring heating, cooling, shaping, forming, and the stress related totheir mechanical properties of materials. Ability to read and Edit CNC lathe and mill programs accordingly toset-up and machine output. Machine operator will also demonstrate the ability to manuallyadjust mill and lathe offsets for tool wear and machine compensationwhen needed. May perform other duties as assigned by management.**Job Qualifications** Effectively be able to communicate with internal and externalcustomers. Able to run and complete parts using the MRP Network. Able to add, subtract, divide and multiply all units of measure,including fractions, whole numbers, decimals and percentages. Able to understand Excel programs. Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailedwritten or oral instructions. Able to solve problems and deal with problems involving variables instandardized situations. Able to work without immediate supervision. Able to notice what work needs to be done and establish a time frameof how much time will be required to complete it. Works with power driven equipment. Frequent stooping and bending required. Works with costly metals where possibility of damage or scrap ishigh. Close attention and care is required to prevent damage to complexmachine tools.
