Includes precision instrument makers who fabricate,modify, or repair mechanical instruments. Knowledge of mechanics,mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.**Essential Functions** Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner and complieswith company policies. Determine the uses of personal protective equipment (PPE); identifythe safety equipment and procedures related to safe work practicesand surrounding environment. Able to run and complete parts using the MRP Network. Use the MRP system to clock in and out of jobs upon set-up andcompletion. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Maintaining and filling out of quality sheets to verify parttolerances. Knowledge of Basic Machine Shop Vocabulary. Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency and allowed timestandards. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematicsand instruments such as micrometers and dial calipers. Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes,milling machines, shapers, or grinders. Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order todiagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustmentsor repairs. Align and secure work-holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments,accessories, and materials onto machines. Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineeringinformation in order to determine methods and sequences ofoperations needed to fabricate products, and determine productdimensions and tolerances. Conduct job hazard analysis for conventional mills and lathes,develop math skills for machine tool operation, and performpreventive maintenance and housekeeping on conventional mills andlathes, select work holding devices for mills, lathes and othermachine tools. Calculate tool feed and speeds, remove material using milling andturning processes, align milling head, use a manual and CNC Mill orLathe to center drill, drill and ream holes, change tools and toolholders on milling machines, and maintain tool life for jobproduction. May perform other duties as assigned by management.**Job Qualifications** Effectively be able to communicate with internal and externalcustomers. Able to run and complete parts using the MRP Network. Able to add, subtract, divide and multiply all units of measure,including fractions, whole numbers, decimals and percentages. Able to understand Excel programs. Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailedwritten or oral instructions. Able to solve problems and deal with problems involving variables instandardized situations. Able to work without immediate supervision. Able to notice what work needs to be done and establish a time frameof how much time will be required to complete it. Works with power driven equipment. Frequent stooping and bending required. Works with costly metals where possibility of damage or scrap ishigh. Close attention and care is required to prevent damage to complexmachine tools.
