Head of Legal Content

We are building an AI legal guidance platform for capital markets and private M&A attorneys at boutique and mid-size law firms. Today, the founder authors all governing legal content. The current Legal Content Lead executes content operations — EDGAR pulls, document assembly, content versioning — but does not author the substantive rules. As the company scales into Phase 2 and beyond, this dependency on the founder for content authorship is the most significant operational and diligence risk on the company’s path to acquisition. The Head of Legal Content role is designed to absorb that authorship function and own it independently. The Head of Legal Content owns the legal substance of the Holmes platform across all modules, current and future. The scope is broad and deliberate. The person in this seat is the legal authority voice in product conversations, the diligence-facing owner of the content layer in any future acquisition, and the senior legal mind who replaces the founder as the day-to-day source of content direction. This is a senior legal seat with a meaningful operational and management dimension. The right person has practiced the law the rules describe — not at the margins, but at depth — and has either built or worked closely with legal content systems before.  Required across all profiles:•    JD from a strong law school. Bar admission active in at least one US jurisdiction.•    Direct practice experience in capital markets, M&A, or general corporate — not litigation, not regulatory advisory, not in-house generalist roles. The substance of the rules requires substantive familiarity with the work.•    Comfort with technical concepts at the level required to collaborate with engineering: how vector retrieval works, what “non-fabrication” enforcement means in a system prompt, how source tiers are weighted in retrieval ranking. Not technical depth — product literacy.
