IS Mechanical Designer II

OverviewThe IS Mechanical Designer II will design mechanical systems, components, or assemblies using engineering principles.ResponsibilitiesWorks closely with project managers, engineers and contractors to create unique high-level concepts and designs for all assigned projects.Works closely with the team to ensure the successful execution of goals of all assigned projects.Conducts field surveys to identify existing equipment types and system capabilities.Produces design documents including drawings, system flow diagrams and architecture, wiring diagrams, construction details, and equipment scheduling.Delivers concepts and designs according to strict project deadlines.Contributes to all areas of the creative process and department.Performs work under direct supervision.Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.Assist with the development of technical reports or related documents.Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to team members.Other duties as assigned or required.QualificationsRequired Education, Experience, and QualificationsAssociate degree in HVAC Technology, Building Systems Engineering, Construction Management, or related field2-4 years' experience with building construction, especially mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or automatic temperature controls.Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVITStrong technical skillsEffective oral and written communications skillsVision and CreativityAbility to meet deadlinesPlanning skillsPossesses beginning to working knowledge of the subject matter.Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.Preferred Education, Experience, And QualificationsBachelor of Science in Engineering degreeBuilding Automation System design and sequence writing experience - Preferred systems include Siemens, JCI, Honeywell, Trane, Struxureware, and TridiumHVAC Design and Commissioning experience - Preferred systems include Chilled Water, Heating Water, Condenser Water, and SteamHigher Education and Healthcare design experienceTravel Requirements10-25% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.Physical ActivitiesAscending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, polesClimbing stairs.Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periodsMoving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to anotherRepeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingersEnvironmental ConditionsOutdoor elements such as precipitation and windLow temperatureHigh temperatureNoisy environmentPhysical DemandsLight work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 poundsPay RangeUSD $27.92 - USD $37.29 /Hr.
