Materials Scientist
Job Summary:The Senior Scientist – Materials Science will support device production, research and development, and regulatory submissions within a laboratory environment. This role focuses on performing advanced material characterization and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive technical solutions. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical expertise, hands-on laboratory experience, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, regulated environment.Key Responsibilities:• Perform material characterization using techniques such as metallography, optical microscopy, SEM/EDS, microhardness testing, Raman spectroscopy, and FTIR• Conduct laboratory-based analysis to support research, development, and production initiatives• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute test plans• Analyze experimental data and prepare detailed technical reports• Document experiments in compliance with regulated laboratory standards using electronic notebook systems• Support problem-solving initiatives and continuous improvement efforts• Apply materials science principles to evaluate and interpret results• Maintain strong communication with stakeholders and project teamsRequired Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field• 1 to 3 years of experience in a laboratory or materials characterization environment• Experience with analytical instrumentation and testing techniques• Strong understanding of materials science principles• Experience documenting laboratory work in compliance with GMP or regulated environments• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills• Strong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:• Experience working with biomaterials such as nitinol, stainless steel, titanium, polymers, or related materials• Familiarity with medical device or regulated industry environments• Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional project teamsBenefits:The Company offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, short-term disability insurance, paid parking/public transportation, paid time off, paid sick and safe time, hours of paid vacation time, weeks of paid parental leave, and paid holidays annually – as applicable.Pay Range: $40/hr to $42/hr
