Electrical Estimator (Portland, Oregon) Position OverviewThe Electrical Estimator (Portland, Oregon) will support bidding and preconstruction efforts for commercial and industrial electrical projects. This role is responsible for reviewing drawings and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, and preparing accurate cost estimates to support competitive proposals. The position offers exposure to multiple projects and opportunities for professional growth within a collaborative and safety-focused environment.Electrical Estimator ResponsibilitiesReview proposal specifications, drawings, and bid documents to determine project scope and estimate requirements.Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and prepare comprehensive electrical construction estimates.Maintain organized records of estimate documentation, including pricing information from suppliers and vendors.Utilize historical cost data such as purchase orders, subcontract pricing, and productivity reports to develop accurate unit and labor estimates.Attend pre-bid meetings and coordinate estimating activities related to assigned bids or projects.Collaborate with project teams and suppliers to ensure complete and competitive bid submissions.Electrical Estimator QualificationsMinimum of one year of electrical estimating experience, or an equivalent combination of technical training and relevant field experience.Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control principles, and construction pricing methods.Ability to interpret computerized cost data and prepare detailed estimates.Strong computer skills along with clear verbal and written communication abilities.Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background and motor vehicle record requirements when driving is required.Electrical Estimator CompensationCompetitive compensation package including a base salary and comprehensive benefits, such as health insurance options, retirement plan with employer contribution, disability and life insurance coverage, paid holidays, and paid time off.
