Ramos Construction and Electrical Co is looking to hire an Electrical Estimator! We are a construction and electrical services contractor that specializes in commercial and public works projects. Our company provides customized, efficient, effective, and safe electrical services for commercial buildings in the Portland area. THIS IS FOR YOU IF: You are passionate when it comes to electrical estimating ; accuracy is the name of the game for you You are detailed oriented and understand the ins and outs of preparing complex quotes for large, commercial and public works projects You are a self-starter who firmly takes initiative and always follows through on what you set out to accomplish You take pride in being reliable and your clients, colleagues, and leaders are confident that they can always depend on you You are a multi-tasker and remain calm when juggling multiple, competing priorities You are independent and aren’t afraid to trust your instincts to make necessary decisions You develop professional relationships easily with your down to earth, warm, and approachable demeanor You believe that accountability goes hand in hand with integrity and always take ownership of your contributions and actions You are confident in your ability to solve problems and take pride in providing answers to questions before they appear You are a natural when it comes to elevating your teammates; you believe in leading by example and take every opportunity to share your knowledge and experience You understand the importance of a healthy workplace culture and find balance in building friendly relationships with your teammates and colleagues You are a master of working under pressure and know how to carry yourself professionally in the face of any challenging situation IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL BE: Preparing highly organized project scope documents including specifications, drawings, and goals to ensure accuracy in all estimating Developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for bid procurement and contracting Researching and reviewing detailed project requirements including materials, equipment, and costs of labor Gathering quotes from required subcontractors and suppliers while always negotiating the best available pricing Formulating contingency plans and ensuring risk mitigation and management Analyzing construction documents and inputting takeoffs into estimating software Maintaining spreadsheets and other specialized software to keep up to date with current supplier and trade pricing and availability Communicating clearly and effectively with management and clients, including project status and budget updates Assisting in the closing of bids, including debrief meetings or closeout documentation Assessing and improving upon existing systems and processes to effectively meet and exceed customer and colleague satisfaction Understanding the latest estimating technology, trends, and innovation within the electrical construction industry Building and maintaining lasting relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, engineers, and contractors Liaising seamlessly with multiple vendors, clients, and sub-trades on behalf of the company’s leadership team Building a positive rapport with teams across multiple construction sites including foreman, colleagues, and subcontractors EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 5+ years of public works and commercial electrical estimating experience Demonstrated ability to effectively manage administrative projects Ability to interpret all types of electrical systems and technical specifications Thorough understanding of the electrical construction industry Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States Must live in Portland, Oregon or the surrounding area Ability to work in a hybrid environment and attend in-person meetings The nice to haves: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the electrical trade and training Previous experience in a similar role in the electrical industry Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) as well as local codes Knowledge of Procore, CRM systems, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Accubid (or similar electrical estimating software) THE BENEFITS Becoming part of a fast-growing company with ambitious goals for continued success A highly competitive compensation package to ensure you feel comfortable Company-provided professional development and continuing education Eligibility for extended health benefit packages Performance-based bonus opportunities A team-oriented organization that values get togethers, summer picnics, taco cookouts, and the highly anticipated annual Christmas party WORK ENVIRONMENT PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
