The Advanced Practice Provider Outpatient Specialty Care works in collaboration with physician(s) to provide patients with specialized care in an outpatient office-based setting. The APP assesses patients, interprets diagnostic test/results, and develops and implements treatment plans to address the patient's unique needs in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. Specialty Care is office based only and includes the following: Allergy, Geriatrics, Pulmonary, Dermatology, Urgent Care, and Endocrinology as well as Cardiology, Neurology, Rheumatology, Occupational Medicine, Gynecology (without obstetrics), Ear, Nose & Throat, Vascular, Psychiatry, APPs in Community Care Clinic and Patient Care Clinic settings.Essential Job FunctionPerforms in office physical assessments of the patient, reviews their medical history, and interprets diagnostic tests/results in order to provide effective treatment for the patient. Conducts preventive health screenings based on the patient's age, history, and unique needs to provide proactive health care. Educates patients and their family about specialty care medical conditions, treatment, and follow-up. Maintains record of all patient care in order to ensure accurate patient history is recorded across offices. Performs office-based specialty care medical procedures in accordance with departmental guidelines and clinical roles. Identifies ways to improve outpatient specialty care by assessing, problem-solving, and evaluating clinical and system issues.
