Park Maintenance Worker

Nature of Work:This work involves maintaining park grounds and city rights of way.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Competencies and skills:
* Knowledge of the hazards and safety [recautions associated with the assigned tools and equipment.
* Ability to operate assigned equipment.
* Ability to understand and measure base distances.
* Ability to understand written and oral instructions.
* Ability to push a lawn mower from 75 to 100% of the work day.
* Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds frequently, use up to one hundred (100) pounds of force occasionally, and use seventy-five (75) pounds of force frequently to move objects.Essential Functions:(Any one position may not perform all of the duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all of the duties that may be performed in positions allocated to this classification.)
* Mows, trims, reseeds, landscapes, and cleans public park grounds, facilities, and City rights of way.
* Mows grass and removes weeds, downed trees, limbs, branches, and debris from parks and abandoned private properties.
* Picks up trash and litter and empties trash barrels.
* Marks and drags ball fields.
* Cleans restroom facilities.
* Performs other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates within the scope of this classification.Special Qualifications:
