Job Title: Head of Data (Analytics, Data Engineering & AI/ML)Location: Remote (LATAM or CEE Preferred)Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM CSTContract Type: Independent ContractorCompensation: $6,000 – $8,000 USD/monthAbout the RoleWe are hiring a Head of Data to build and lead the company’s data function across analytics, data engineering, and AI/ML.This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for data infrastructure, reporting, forecasting, and applied machine learning, supporting both operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.You will work closely with executive leadership to define data strategy, implement scalable systems, and drive measurable business impact through data.What You’ll OwnCompany-wide data strategy and roadmapData infrastructure, pipelines, and architectureBusiness intelligence, reporting, and dashboardsForecasting models and performance analyticsAI/ML initiatives for automation and optimizationData governance and data quality standardsKey ResponsibilitiesDefine and execute the data strategy, architecture, and roadmapBuild and manage data pipelines (ETL/ELT) and data infrastructureDeliver executive dashboards, KPI reporting, and forecasting modelsDevelop and deploy machine learning models for operational and business use casesPartner with leadership (CEO, CFO, COO) to translate business goals into data-driven insightsEstablish data governance, quality standards, and best practicesLead and mentor data team members as the function scalesRequired Experience & Skills5+ years of experience across data science, analytics, or data engineeringStrong experience building data infrastructure and pipelinesProficiency in SQL and PythonExperience with ETL/ELT tools (Airflow, dbt, or similar)Experience building and deploying ML models in productionStrong background in statistics, data modeling, and analyticsExperience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker)Ability to communicate insights to executive stakeholdersExperience leading or mentoring team membersNice to HaveExperience in healthcare, veterinary, or clinical environmentsExperience scaling a data function in a startup or high-growth companyFamiliarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery)Experience applying AI to operations or customer experience
