Youth Soccer Coaches
NJ/NY Gotham FC ("Gotham FC" or "the Club") is a National Women's Soccer League ("NWSL") team representing New Jersey and New York. The team plays at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, NJ. If you're ready to push the limits and make an impact, you belong at Gotham FC.The Role:Gotham FC is seeking to hire part-time Youth Soccer Coaches to work across all youth soccer programs (e.g., camps and clinics) throughout NYC, Long Island, New Jersey, Westchester and Connecticut. These positions will report to the Head of Youth Soccer. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience coaching youth soccer across a variety of age groups and skill levels, with a commitment to player development and creating a positive, inclusive environment. Coaches must be able to travel independently across assigned regions (e.g., NYC, NJ, CT) and occasionally to Jersey City and Whippany, NJ to pick up materials and coaching equipment. This role requires coaches to work on weekends/non-traditional hours. All coaching will be in-person and hiring will be on a rolling basis.Key Responsibilities:Promote Gotham FC in a professional, respectful, and exciting manner while working youth soccer events, activations, and community gatheringsServe as the face of Gotham FC in the market, representing the team with the utmost professionalismCollaborate and communicate efficiently with other youth coaching members and the broader Gotham FC team.Use Youth Coaching curriculum to deliver coaching to players of all ages and abilitiesQualifications:Must be at least 18 years of ageUSSF Grassroots License or higher (or international equivalent)Prior experience coaching grassroots and competitive youth soccer teams or clubsValid driver's license and reliable transportationCPR/First Aid CertificationMust be positive and high energy team playerExperience working with underrepresented or underserved youth communitiesMust have weekend and daytime availability, and the ability to work untraditional hours including occasional weekdays, evenings, and some holidaysMust be able to travel to the venue or to an event meeting pointMust study and understand the Gotham FC roster and club happeningsMust be well-organized, with ability to multitask and manage time effectivelyMust have excellent communication skillsMust have the ability to stay flexible and adaptable, especially during youth soccer seasonsMust be legally authorized to work in the United States.Must be able to lift (25) pounds and perform some manual laborCapability & Other Characteristics:Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate youth players through positive energy, clear instruction, and a passion for the game.Judgement: Ability to respectfully interact with different types of people within the youth soccer communityFlexibility: Comfortable adjusting sessions and communication style based on age group, weather, attendance, and other changing circumstances.Problem Solving: Must be resourceful and possess strong decision making skillsSpanish Speaking Skills: Ability to speak Spanish preferred but not requiredLocation:This position will require Youth Soccer Coaches to deliver youth soccer programs around New York, New Jersey & Connecticut. The Gotham FC's business office is located at 15 Exchange Place, Jersey City, New Jersey. Gotham FC Youth Coaching members must be able to travel to the office periodically to pick up all event items/needs ahead of the season. A willingness to travel for other business-related needs, as they arise, is required.
