Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Java Lead to join our team on-site in Phoenix, Arizona. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on Java development expertise combined with the leadership skills to guide a team through design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of Java-based applications and microservices
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to a team of developers
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices for code quality, performance, and security
- Own technical decision-making for assigned modules/projects, including architecture and design patterns
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues
- Drive adoption of CI/CD practices and contribute to DevOps pipeline improvements
- Ensure timely delivery of project milestones in coordination with onsite/offshore teams
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems
- Required Skills & Qualifications 6-8 years of professional experience in Java/J2EE development
- Strong expertise in Core Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Hibernate/JPASolid experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
- Hands-on experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL)
- Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, ActiveMQ, or similar) is a plus
- Proficiency with version control (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar)
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) preferred
- Strong understanding of design patterns, data structures, and system design principles
- Prior experience leading or mentoring a development team
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
