Job Title: Data EngineerLocation: Irwin,TxDuration: Contract to hireJob OverviewWe are looking for a Data Engineer with of software engineering experience to design and develop scalable backend services, REST APIs, search platforms, and event-driven applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Python, Elasticsearch, Kafka, Microsoft Azure, and distributed systems.ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop scalable backend services using Python.Build and maintain enterprise-grade REST APIs.Design and optimize Elasticsearch indexes, mappings, queries, and search relevance.Develop scalable search and matching solutions for large datasets.Build event-driven architectures using Kafka and Azure Event Hub.Develop high-throughput data ingestion and indexing pipelines.Integrate applications with Databricks and enterprise data platforms.Develop secure, cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure.Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.Monitor application health, logging, observability, and production performance.Troubleshoot and optimize API, search, indexing, and infrastructure performance.Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews.Provide production support and collaborate with architects, data scientists, product managers, and engineering teams.Required QualificationsStrong hands-on Python backend development experience.Strong experience building and supporting REST APIs.Production experience with Elasticsearch.Experience building scalable search platforms.Experience with Kafka, Azure Event Hub, or similar event-streaming platforms.Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.Experience with CI/CD and automated deployments.Strong understanding of microservices and distributed systems.Experience troubleshooting production systems and performance issues.Preferred SkillsExperience with Databricks or enterprise data platforms.Experience with large-scale data ingestion and indexing.Knowledge of cloud-native architecture and observability tools.Experience with performance tuning and high-throughput systems.
