With sales and service locations throughout the world, and over 100 years of battery experience, EnerSys is the power/full solution for stored DC power products.Job PurposeThe Director, Corporate Strategy & Mergers & Acquisitions will play a central role in shaping EnerSys' long term growth strategy and executing value accretive M&A. This role partners closely with the executive leadership team to drive strategic planning, portfolio optimization, and disciplined capital allocation across EnerSys' global energy systems, motive power, and specialty businesses.The position is responsible for leading end to end M&A activity-including target identification, valuation, due diligence, deal execution, and post merger integration-while also supporting enterprise level strategy initiatives tied to growth, technology, and market expansion.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCorporate StrategySupport development and refinement of EnerSys' corporate strategy, including long range planning, portfolio strategy, and growth prioritiesConduct market, competitive, and technology analysis across energy storage, power electronics, services, software, and adjacent marketsEvaluate organic and inorganic growth opportunities aligned with EnerSys' strategic priorities, including technology expansion, vertical diversification, and geographic growthDevelop strategic business cases and investment theses for executive leadership and Board reviewPartner with business unit leaders to translate strategy into executable initiatives and track progress against defined objectivesMergers & AcquisitionsLead the end to end M&A process, from pipeline development through transaction closeIdentify, screen, and prioritize acquisition and divestiture opportunities aligned with EnerSys' portfolio and capital allocation strategyBuild and review detailed financial models, valuations, and synergy analysesLead cross functional due diligence efforts across finance, legal, tax, operations, commercial, technology, and HRCoordinate and manage external advisors, including investment banks, consultants, and legal counselSupport negotiation of transaction structure, economics, and definitive agreementsIntegration & Value CreationPartner with functional and business unit leaders to plan and execute post merger integration activitiesEstablish integration roadmaps aligned with the deal thesis and synergy targetsTrack post close performance versus investment assumptions and identify opportunities for value realizationSupport continuous improvement of EnerSys' M&A and integration playbooksExecutive & Board EngagementPrepare high quality materials for executive leadership and Board of Directors discussionsServe as a trusted thought partner to senior leaders across finance, operations, legal, and business unitsSupport governance processes related to capital allocation, M&A approvals, and strategic reviewsQualificationsSKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field8-12+ years of experience in corporate development, corporate strategy, investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or related rolesDemonstrated experience leading M&A transactions, including financial modeling and due diligenceStrong analytical, financial, and strategic thinking capabilitiesAbility to synthesize complex information into clear, executive level recommendationsExperience working effectively in a global, matrixed organizationPREFERREDMBA or advanced degreeExperience in industrial, energy, power systems, battery, or technology enabled businessesExposure to post merger integration and synergy realizationPrior experience supporting executive leadership teams or BoardsWHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE AT ENERSYSA high‐quality, well‐prioritized M&A pipeline aligned with EnerSys' strategic prioritiesDisciplined deal execution with clear investment theses and measurable value creationEffective integration of acquired businesses into EnerSys' operating modelStrong strategic support to executive leadership and the Board on growth and capital allocation decisionsTRAVEL REQUIRED - May be significant at timesGeneral Job Requirements* GenericEnerSys provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.Know Your RightsKnow Your Rights (Spanish)We use artificial intelligence to screen, assess and select applicants for open positions, including for the purposes of reviewing and ranking application materials and scoring answers to application questions.
