As a school recognized for academic excellence and committed to holistic experience for our students, the South Carolina Governor's School for Science & Mathematics (GSSM) invites applications for an Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director for Research, Global, and Innovation Initiatives.Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director for Research, Global, and Innovation Initiatives, the Administrative Assistant provides operational, logistical, and program support for portfolio of high impact student programs at GSSM. These include research and inquiry programs, global learning experiences, robotic teams, academic teams and competitions, hydroponics and applied STEM labs, and community outreach efforts. This position supports the coordination and implementation of programs that extend GSSM's mission across South Carolina and globally. Administrative Support: Support programs related events such as science fairs, GSSM Colloquium, workshops, etc. and assist with scheduling, materials, logistics, purchasing, and communication with internal departments and the GSSM Foundation. Global Leaming & Partnership Support: Supports domestic and international travel logistics for students, faculty, visiting groups, and partner programs, including researching and purchasing airline tickets, preparing itineraries, tracking travel details, and assisting with housing and transportation arrangements. Assists with visa visiting participants. Support the expansion of partnerships and program access from South Carolina. Student, Faculty, & Community Engagement: Serves as a point of contact for students in RGII programs, supports faculty mentors, assists with student onboarding, and helps maintain communication with families, schools, and community stakeholders. Data Reporting & Communication: Maintains program data and partnership records, assists with reports, evaluations, and grant documentation.This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may coordinate and provide guidance to student workers, volunteers, and program participants as needed. Minimum and Additional RequirementsHigh School diploma and relevant experience in program coordination or administrative support. Bachelor's degree can be substituted for experience.Additional Requirements:Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to support multiple programs and manage timelines with attention to detail.Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with students, faculty, staff, administration, parents, and external partners.Ability to work independently and as part of a team; proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
