Licensed Electrical Engineer

Freese and Nichols is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support our growing electrical team in Fort Worth, Dallas, or Austin, Texas; Atlanta, Georgia; Raleigh, North Carolina; or Tampa, Florida. As an Electrical Engineer, you will design and deliver electrical systems for water and wastewater systems for municipal, federal and private-sector projects while supporting project design and construction delivery, quality control, and the development of junior engineers.What You'll DoDesign complete electrical systems, including power, lighting, generator systems, and controls for water and wastewater treatment plant and pump station facilitiesAnalyze existing electrical systems and develop cost-effective improvements and modifications to rehabilitate or expand existing facilitiesSupport projects through all phases, from pre-proposal and design through constructionPrepare and review electrical design calculations, drawings, and specificationsAssess electrical equipment and witness on-site electrical testing and startupPerform quality control reviews to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and standardsCoordinate tasks to support project schedules, budgets, and technical requirementsProvide technical guidance and coaching to junior engineersCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and subcontractorsTravel as needed to support project execution and site activitiesQualificationsBachelor's degree in electrical engineeringProfessional Engineer license in Texas, Georgia, North Carolina or Florida5+ years of electrical engineering experienceExperience supporting all phases of design from pre-proposal through constructionExperience working with clients and subcontractorsKnowledge of construction documentsStrong understanding of NEC, NESC and NFPA 820Understanding of power system analysis such as short circuit analysis, motor starting analysis and load flow studiesAbility to travel as requiredPreferredExperience designing electrical power, lighting, and controls systems for water and wastewater treatment plants and pump stationsRelated transferrable experience in designing similar systems in the following industries: power generation, pulp/paper, chemical, midstream or O&G refineriesAbility to obtain Professional Engineer licensure in additional U.S. statesProficiency with SKM or ETAPProficiency with AutoCADProficiency with RevitAbout Freese and NicholsAt the heart of our culture is our LEADS values (Learn continuously, Engage as family, Act with integrity, Deliver quality, and Serve always).
