Re-1 Valley School District is seeking a Part-Time Occupational Therapist (OT) to support students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. This role focuses on helping students develop the functional skills necessary to participate fully in educational environments, including fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills.
We are looking for a collaborative, student-focused professional who is passionate about helping students access and succeed in school.
REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services and Building Principals
SALARY & CATEGORY: $25,436 - $37,448 on Special Service Providers Salary Schedule (Based on a Part-Time Schedule)
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
WORK CALENDAR: 177 scheduled working days (4 hours/day), 4-day school week (Part-Time Working Days)

Purpose of Position
The Occupational Therapist provides evaluation, intervention, and consultation services to students with disabilities in grades K12. The OT supports students in accessing their educational programs by improving functional performance in areas such as motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care.
Services are delivered in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and aligned with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Evaluation & Assessment
Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and re-evaluations
Interpret assessment results and contribute to eligibility determination
Identify student needs related to educational performance
Service Delivery
Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services
Develop and implement therapy interventions aligned with IEP goals
Address areas including:
Fine motor and visual-motor integration
Sensory processing and regulation
Activities of daily living (ADLs)
Assistive technology and adaptive equipment
Collaboration & Consultation
Collaborate with teachers to implement classroom strategies
Train staff on accommodations, modifications, and equipment use
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians
Participate in IEP and multidisciplinary team meetings
Compliance & Documentation
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services
Monitor and report student progress toward IEP goals
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Manage therapy schedules and caseload efficiently
Professional Responsibilities
Stay current with best practices in school-based occupational therapy
Participate in district professional development
Adhere to district policies and ethical standards
Support building and district improvement initiatives
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and IDEA
Maintain required documentation and records
CPI or district-approved de-escalation training required

Education & Experience
Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy required
Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Colorado
National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification required
Prior experience in pediatric or school-based settings preferred
Experience collaborating with related service providers
Bilingual Skills preferred
Working Conditions
Work in classroom, therapy, and small group environments
Travel between district buildings may be required
Frequent collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
Evaluation
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with district policy and the Colorado Teacher Evaluation System.
