This role focuses on helping students develop the functional skills necessary to participate fully in educational environments, including fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills. REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services and Building Principals SALARY & CATEGORY: $25,436 - $37,448 on Special Service Providers Salary Schedule (Based on a Part-Time Schedule) FLSA STATUS: Exempt WORK CALENDAR: 177 scheduled working days (4 hours/day), 4-day school week (Part-Time Working Days) FTE: .5 Part-Time (Benefits not included with this position) Purpose of Position The Occupational Therapist provides evaluation, intervention, and consultation services to students with disabilities in grades K 12. The OT supports students in accessing their educational programs by improving functional performance in areas such as motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care. Services are delivered in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and aligned with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP). Essential Duties & Responsibilities Evaluation & Assessment Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and re-evaluationsInterpret assessment results and contribute to eligibility determinationIdentify student needs related to educational performance Service Delivery Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy servicesDevelop and implement therapy interventions aligned with IEP goalsAddress areas including:Fine motor and visual-motor integrationSensory processing and regulationActivities of daily living (ADLs)Assistive technology and adaptive equipment Collaboration & Consultation Collaborate with teachers to implement classroom strategiesTrain staff on accommodations, modifications, and equipment useCommunicate regularly with parents/guardiansParticipate in IEP and multidisciplinary team meetings Compliance & Documentation Maintain accurate and timely documentation of servicesMonitor and report student progress toward IEP goalsEnsure compliance with state and federal regulationsManage therapy schedules and caseload efficiently Professional Responsibilities Stay current with best practices in school-based occupational therapyParticipate in district professional developmentAdhere to district policies and ethical standardsSupport building and district improvement initiativesMaintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and IDEAMaintain required documentation and recordsCPI or district-approved de-escalation training requiredRE-1 Valley employees shall comply with standard practices and ethical conduct toward information and information technology, students, professional colleagues, school officials, parents, and members of the community.
