PL/SQL Developer
Alternate location- Plano TX- Role summary / mission:- Provide expert SQL and PLSQL engineering for integrating structured data into AI agent pipelines. Build robust, performant DB queries, stored procedures, and PLSQL that can invoke Oracle-hosted embedding models; enable secure, scalable access for agent and RAG workflows.- Key responsibilities:- Design, implement, and optimize PLSQL procedures, functions, and views supporting agent-driven queries.- Integrate Oracle-hosted embedding/AI features into PLSQL flows.- Work with ML/LLM engineers to expose structured data safely to LLMs (query builders, templating, sanitization).- Build and document patterns for structured-data retrieval for agents and RAG pipelines.- Ensure data access performance, partitioning, indexing, and query optimization.- Implement monitoring, alerting, and testing for DB-backed AI features.- Assist in API endpoints or microservices that wrap complex SQL logic when needed.- Enforce security, least-privilege, and data governance for AI access.- Required qualifications (must?have):- Strong SQL expertise (10+ years preferred) and advanced PLSQL experience.- Hands?on experience with Oracle DB (11g/12c/19c or later) and Oracle-specific features.- Experience with SQL performance tuning, indexing, explain plans, and query optimization.- Experience building production stored procedures, functions, packages, and jobs.- Demonstrated experience integrating SQL/databases with application layers or automation.- Clear communication skills: can explain business use cases, data models, and tradeoffs.- Preferred / nice?to?have:- Direct experience with Oracle’s embedded AI/embedding models or Oracle AI features.- Experience enabling LLM/agent access to structured data (designing safe retrieval layers).- Familiarity with RAG patterns and vector embeddings concepts.- Exposure to DB security, masking, and data governance for ML/AI usage.- Scripting experience (Python/CLI) to build orchestration or ETL glue.- Cloud DB experience (OCI/Azure/AWS RDS) and IaC familiarity.
