Legal Operations Manager, E-Billing & Spend Management (20 hours a week contract)Our top tech client is looking for a highly organized and solutions-oriented Legal Operations professional to own and optimize their e-billing and outside counsel spend management processes. This role sits at the intersection of legal, finance, and operations, and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building efficient, scalable systems.You’ll take the lead on managing our e-billing platform, driving invoice review workflows, improving vendor compliance, and delivering actionable insights on legal spend. This is a hands-on role with significant visibility across internal teams and external partners.What You’ll DoOwn and optimize the legal e-billing platform, including invoice workflows, matter setup, user management, and reportingReview and analyze invoices to ensure compliance with billing guidelines and identify cost-saving opportunitiesManage outside counsel billing processes, including budgeting, accruals, and spend trackingDevelop rate benchmarking and competitive insights to support negotiations and rate approvalsDrive continuous improvement in billing operations, policies, and global compliance standardsPartner cross-functionally with finance, accounts payable, tax, and procurement to streamline billing and payment processesServe as the primary point of contact for outside counsel on billing inquiries and administrative coordinationLead or support cross-functional projects and step into adjacent operational priorities as neededWhat You Bring3+ years of experience in legal operations, with a focus on e-billing and legal spend managementStrong background in budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and vendor managementExperience with e-billing platforms (e.g., Brightflag or similar tools)Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyze and present data effectivelyExcellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities independentlyStrong communication skills and a collaborative, solutions-driven mindsetComfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environmentBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; additional certifications are a plusWhy This RoleThis is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping legal operations, driving efficiency, and partnering across teams to make a measurable impact.
