Job Title: Technical Advisor (Patent Litigation - Software/Technology)Location: New York, NY Employment Type: Contract (3-6 months, with possible extension)Compensation: Competitive, based on experienceAbout the RoleDirect Counsel is seeking a highly skilled Technical Advisor to support a sophisticated intellectual property litigation team. This contract opportunity will focus on technology-driven disputes involving patents, trade secrets, and copyrights, particularly in areas related to software, algorithms, and digital content.This is an excellent opportunity for a technically advanced professional to work alongside top-tier attorneys on complex, high-stakes matters.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct detailed technical analysis in support of patent and IP litigation mattersPerform infringement and non-infringement analysesLead and coordinate prior art searches and assist in invalidity analysisCollaborate with attorneys to develop case strategy and technical argumentsAnalyze software systems, algorithms, and digital technologies relevant to disputesAssist with expert reports, discovery, and case preparationQualificationsPh.D. or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical fieldPrior experience supporting patent, trade secret, or copyright litigationStrong background in software, algorithms, and/or digital technologiesExperience conducting prior art searches and technical analysis for patent invalidityAbility to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to legal teamsPreferred QualificationsPrior experience working with law firms or in litigation support rolesFamiliarity with IP litigation processes and expert witness coordinationStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsWhat We’re Looking ForA detail-oriented, highly analytical professional who thrives in a fast-paced environmentStrong collaborator who can work closely with attorneys and expertsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesAdditional InformationThis is a contract engagement expected to last 3-6 months, with the possibility of extension based on case needs and performance.
