Registered Nurse (RN) | Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Location: Oklahoma City, OK Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $3,032 per week Shift Information: Nights - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: - Minimum of 1 year of PICU experience required. - Level 1 experience required. License: - Current RN License issued by the appropriate state board of nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License. Certifications: - Current Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association. - PALS certification from the American Heart Association. Must-Have: - PICU experience. - Level 1 experience. Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assists physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes physiological manifestations, and intervenes when necessary. Administers medications as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with families and patients to share care plans during hospitalization and at the time of discharge. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures is required. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques. Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential. Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors is important. Some computer skills are necessary. Education: - Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program is required. - Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing is preferred.
