The Lipscomb Anesthesiologist Assistant Studies Program is a 28-month Master of Science in Anesthesiology degree program dedicated to training Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants. This dynamic program is launching in August 2026 with an inaugural cohort of 24 students and is working toward initial accreditation through the Accreditation Review Commission for the Anesthesiologist Assistant (ARC-AA).Position SummaryThe Assistant Program Director - Clinical Education & Simulation will be instrumental in establishing and managing the clinical education and simulation training components of this new program. This position will work closely with the Program Director to develop clinical site partnerships, coordinate student clinical rotations, and implement simulation-based training experiences. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced CAA to help build a program from the ground up and shape the clinical education of the next generation of anesthesia providers.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Site Development and ManagementManage existing clinical site contracts and establish new clinical partnerships to support program growthServe as primary liaison between the program and clinical site preceptorsConduct site visits and maintain ongoing relationships with clinical partnersNegotiate and develop clinical affiliation agreements as neededClinical Rotation Coordination Coordinate student clinical rotations, placements, and schedulingEnsure adequate clinical experiences across required specialty areasMonitor student progress and clinical performanceEvaluate student clinical performance in collaboration with preceptorsSimulation-Based TrainingDevelop and implement comprehensive simulation-based training experiencesOversee simulation lab operations, equipment, and educational scenariosDesign simulation activities that align with curriculum objectives and ARC-AA standardsAssess student competency through simulation-based evaluationsAccreditation and ComplianceContribute to accreditation documentation and compliance with ARC-AA clinical education standardsTrack and report clinical education outcomes and metricsParticipate in accreditation reviews and site visitsEnsure clinical training meets all regulatory and accreditation requirementsStudent Support and Professional DevelopmentParticipate in student orientation, clinical preparation, and professional development activitiesMentor students in clinical skill development and professional behaviorAddress student concerns related to clinical experiencesClinical Practice and ServiceMaintain part-time clinical practice through Lipscomb partnership opportunitiesServe on program and college committees as assignedSupport the mission and values of Lipscomb UniversityRequired Qualifications Master's degree in Anesthesiology or related fieldCurrent certification as a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA)Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a CAADemonstrated commitment to education and the advancement of the CAA professionStrong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skillsAbility to work collaboratively with diverse clinical partnersSelf-motivated with excellent organizational and problem-solving skillsPreferred Qualifications 5+ years of clinical experience as a CAAPrior experience in clinical coordination, precepting, or educational program managementExperience with simulation-based education and trainingFamiliarity with ARC-AA accreditation standards for clinical educationPassion for mentorship and student developmentEstablished professional network in the anesthesia communityCompensation And Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with clinical positions in the local marketComprehensive university benefits packageOpportunities to maintain part-time clinical practice through Lipscomb partnershipsProfessional development supportCollaborative and mission-driven work environmentAbout Lipscomb UniversityLipscomb University is a private Christian university in Nashville, Tennessee, committed to integrating faith and learning while providing exceptional educational experiences.
