These applications enable workflow orchestration, data processing, reporting, and risk-driven decision support across the organization.The Senior Application Developer will:Design and develop full-stack applications using Node.js, Python, React/Next.js, and modern backend frameworksBuild and maintain cloud-native solutions on AWS, leveraging services such as Lambda, EC2, ECS, S3, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, and CloudWatchWrite efficient and optimized SQL queries to support complex data models, reporting, and analytics use casesApply Agile methodologies and best practices such as TDD/BDD to ensure high-quality, maintainable codePrepare, deploy, and support applications in AWS production environments, ensuring scalability, security, and performanceCollaborate closely with business stakeholders, architects, DevOps, and security teams on solution design and deliveryTroubleshoot and resolve production issues and user-reported defects in a timely mannerManage small initiatives independently and contribute as a key team member on larger, cross-functional projectsDemonstrate behaviors aligned with the organization's culture, values, and compliance standardsWhat You'll BringBachelor's degree or equivalent work experience8 yrs+ years of relevant work experienceKnowledge of Agile Methodologies, such as Scrum is helpfulExperience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server)Knowledge of design patterns, refactoring and unit testingExperience with Linux and open source softwareFinancial services experience, especially related to mortgages and mortgage backed securities, is desirableWhy You Should JoinAs one of the top mortgage lenders in the country, Pennymac has helped over 4 million lifetime homeowners achieve and sustain their aspirations of home.
