Senior Commercial Manager, NAM-East
Job Description: Preparation of TX proposals/bids, contract negotiation and compliance with contract commitments and commercial risk assessment
Develop proposals; may negotiate with customers; ensure deals deliver shareholder value; drive competitive pricing
May include compiling and submitting required tender documentation
Requires specialized knowledge across product lines, markets, sales processes, or customer groups
Requires strong commercial awareness, and is expected to influence the development of strategy for their broad sales territory, including control of resources
Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work
Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems within projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, campaigns or customers
Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders or customers
Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations
Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision
May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity
Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics
May guide others to consider a different point of view
Requirements: Bachelor's in Engineering, Business Management, Finance or Law from an accredited college or university
Minimum 8+ years of experience in Sales, Services Operations, Commercial Operations, and/or Engineering in the Power Generation industry in NAM
Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%
8+ years of Commercial experience with Services and Upgrades solutions in the Power Generation and/or Energy Industry
Experience within Transactional Services businesses
Experience managing large complex deals with multi-functional interactions
Excellent technical and commercial writing and reading comprehension skills
Background in Aero derivative products and solutions
Comprehensive understanding of GE products, processes, and organizational structure
Knowledgeable of power generation industry trends and competition
Strong network of relationships with key customers in the region
Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and positive attitude
Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills in English
Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills with proven ability to work through difficult situations
Innovative, open-minded and organized
Six Sigma / LEAN or equivalent Quality training
Ability to interact at all levels of the organization and with other GE businesses
Strong customer and quality focus
Ability to work cross-functionally across a global landscape in a matrixed environment
Fluent in Spanish
