Mission Control Associate
About the Role
We are hiring a Mission Control Associate to support real-time commercial service operations from our Service Operations Command Center. In this role, you will help ensure trips are running smoothly and safely by monitoring fleet activity, coordinating dispatch and recovery efforts, and communicating with cross-functional teams.
Mission Control functions similarly to air traffic control, but for a fleet of autonomous vehicles. You will play a critical role in maximizing safety, service efficiency, and operational readiness while gaining a front-row seat to the future of autonomous mobility.

Weekend availability is required.
10:00 AM – 6:30 PM | Thursday – Monday
5:30 PM – 2:00 AM | Thursday – Monday
5:30 PM – 2:00 AM | Friday – Tuesday
Key Responsibilities
As a Mission Control Associate, you will:
Support commercial service operations from the Service Operations Command Center
Oversee and monitor up to two autonomous vehicles at a time
Ensure operational readiness by completing pre-mission startup checklists
Monitor live fleet activity and respond to real-time operational issues
Serve as the first point of contact for basic vehicle troubleshooting
Communicate closely with TeleOperations and Engineering teams, escalating safety concerns through established safety escalation paths
Dispatch Fleet Response teams when vehicle recovery is required and coordinate recovery efforts
Coordinate dispatching needs across multiple internal organizations and response teams
Create, document, and escalate service disruption events through an internal ticketing system
Monitor inputs from external sources such as city alerts, parades, protests, traffic incidents, and road closures, and take action to update internal systems
Update operational tools and mapping systems to reflect real-time conditions (e.g., road closures or restricted zones)
Manage market configuration, including restricted areas and hours of operation
Communicate situational updates to teams within the command center to ensure alignment
Assist with documentation, reporting, and continuous process improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
Experience in dispatching, operations coordination, or real-time monitoring environments
Ability to type at least 60 words per minute (WPM)
A typing certificate will be required during the hiring process
Must be able to work weekends and non-traditional schedules, including evenings or overnight shifts
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
Proactive mindset with strong attention to detail
Comfortable working with multiple computer systems and operational tools simultaneously
Ability to remain calm and effective in time-sensitive or high-pressure situations
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in autonomous vehicles (AV), transportation, mobility, or logistics operations
Customer support or operations support experience
Technical or engineering-adjacent background
Leadership or supervisory experience
