Surgical Technician

The Surgical Technologist provides safe, high-quality patient care in the surgical setting, following established clinical standards and best practices. This role supports the surgical team by maintaining a sterile environment, assisting during procedures, and ensuring proper handling of instruments and supplies. The position requires close collaboration with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, along with consistent interaction with patients and families.Key Responsibilities Assist in planning and coordinating patient care in collaboration with registered nurses and the healthcare team Provide intraoperative support by performing scrubbing duties while maintaining strict aseptic technique Prepare, manage, and account for all surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and visitors, ensuring accurate and timely information sharing Promote teamwork and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment Participate in performance improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with organizational and safety standards Serve as a clinical preceptor for new staff, supporting orientation and training efforts Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of the surgical environment, ensuring proper care and handling of equipment Follow all infection control and safety protocols Perform additional duties as assigned, including potential on-call, weekend, or holiday shiftsQualifications High School Diploma or GED required , along with completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or an approved military Surgical Technology training program Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required Strong experience in neurosurgery required; orthopedic experience preferred Solid knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and patient safety standards, along with healthcare safety protocols and hazards Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain effective working relationships Physically capable of standing for extended periods and performing demanding tasks, including lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs Requires manual dexterity, frequent hand/arm movement, and the ability to work in environments with exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, noise, and high stressImportant Details: 12-week contract position Shift is 10 hrs/day (7 AM - 5:30 PM), 40 hrs/week Location is Charleston, SC 29401 Pay Rate for Travelers: $2,100 - $2,130 per week Locals are not accepted within 50 milesCall to Action: Spots Are Filling Quickly — Apply Now!Company Description: “Pride Health offers eligible employee’s comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto, home insurance, pet insurance, and employee discounts with preferred vendors”
