ApplyJob TypeFull-timeDescriptionShive-Hattery's West Des Moines IA office has an immediate opportunity for a Structural Engineer with 5 to 15 years of experience in the design and leadership of structural engineering projects.Work in a team setting, collaborating with other disciplines to perform the design and construction administration services for education, civic, healthcare, and commercial projects of all sizes. This is a building design focused position, including design of new construction and renovations. However, industrial-related projects may also be included.Lead the structural design portion of projects, make design recommendations and decisions, and oversee the completion and quality of construction drawings, specifications, reports, and other project documentation. Collaborate with senior engineers as needed for overall direction and problem-solving.Provide direction to less experienced engineers and designers assisting with project work, or willingness and ability to develop this capabilityMentor and teach other team membersEstablish and manage structural scope, schedule, and budget, or willingness and ability to develop this capabilityVisit project sites and provide technical assistance to help resolve construction issuesWhy Shive-Hattery?You will find the right balance at Shive-Hattery.
