Business Development Director (Aerospace)

Rock West Composites, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Director.Rock West Composites, Inc. is an engineering and manufacturing company dedicated to providing innovative solutions for commercial and government customers. We provide cradle-to-grave services for primary and secondary composite structures. This position is located in our West Jordan, UT office and reports to the SVP of Space Structures.Position Summary:The Business Development Director is responsible for driving new business in a variety of industries including custom products (custom molded shapes), stock products (tubes, etc), and distribution products (prepregs, fabrics, resins). The focus of this position is custom composite products for DoD and Space clients.Essential Functions: Identify and engage key clients in a variety of industries; Aerospace, Defense, Sports, Maritime, Oil/Energy, etc.Emphasis will be on identifying DoD opportunities Develop a growth plan for assigned key accounts that identifies the programs we are targetingExceed annual sales targets via traditional and nontraditional sales methodsDevelop and organize new business development initiatives, improve market share, implement pricing strategies, control expenses, and deliver technical services.Develop strong working relationships with clients, prospects, suppliers, and internal teams to advance strategic sales growth plans.Act as a liaison with Rock West teams, providing feedback about customer needsProvide leadership to ensure all new innovations /intellectual property is protectedManage customer qualification process; managing transition in sales process from project conception, technical validation, mass production.Follow up on leads generated by our websiteTravel to visit customers, attend trade shows, etc.Non-Essential Functions:Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requestedRequired Education and Experience:BS or BA degree in engineering or technical majorMinimum 8 years of experience in composites and/or aerospace salesExperience of establishing budgets and/or tracking expenditures and profitExperience in communicating with customersStrong technical knowledge of aerospace and space structures; design, analysis, and/or fabricationKnowledge of composite materials including: tapes, fabrics and braids, prepregs, and/or resin infusion fibers such as carbon fiber, fiber glass, quartz, Kevlar resins such as epoxy, vinyl ester, cyanate esterKnowledge of composite finishing processes (trimming, drilling, coating etc.)Leadership Skills:Vision, passion, perseverance, and intensityProven track record and emotional intelligenceCollaborate, but decisiveness and own it until successfulCommunication Skills – a relationship builderCuriosity, take risk - good navigatorPerks and Benefits:100% Employer Paid Medical and DentalAnnual Bonus401K - 5% matchEmployee Stocks Option Program9/80 work schedule8- paid HolidaysPTO: Max. 4-weeks after 5 years of employment$2,500 tuition reimbursement Compensation:The pay range for this position falls within $150,000-$200,000 annually.
