These are high-acuity sites with diverse case mixes and subspecialty requirements.LocationsLong Beach Memorial Medical Center Long Beach, CAMiller Womens & Childrens Hospital Long Beach, CAMemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center Laguna Hills, CAPractice Details100% physician-only anesthesia care (no CRNAs/AAs).Large, established teams: 45+ anesthesiologists at Long Beach, 18 at Saddleback.Teaching environment: anesthesia residency & physician house staff programs.Annual Case Volumes:Long Beach: 28,000 surgical cases / 4,000 OB cases / 2,000 cardiac casesSaddleback: 8,600 surgical cases / 2,000 OB cases / 1,000 cardiac casesCase MixCardiac Anesthesia always, specialty team onlyOB Anesthesia usually (OB Fellowship or high-acuity OB experience required)Pediatric Anesthesia specialty team only at LB/Millers; rarely at SaddlebackNeuro, Trauma, Ortho, and Regional Anesthesia frequentNo chronic pain management or office-based anesthesiaSchedule / CallCall frequency: 1:9 to 1:10 (first and second call)Post-call day off: always grantedMix of general, OB, cardiac, and specialty coverage based on fellowship/expertiseRequirementsBoard Certified Anesthesiologist (ABA)Active California License (required)Fellowship or equivalent subspecialty experience in:Cardiac (CV) Anesthesia Echo certification or CV fellowship requiredOB Anesthesia Fellowship or significant high-acuity OB experience requiredPediatric Anesthesia Fellowship required; must be CA Childrens Services (CCS) paneled for Peds casesCurrent ACLS & PALSKey NotesExclusive contract with MemorialCare system.No CRNAs all physician-directed model.Coverage across three hospitals; Saddleback operates as a standalone team, while Long Beach Memorial and Millers share staffing.High-priority, critical coverage need credentialing will be expedited.
