My Homeroom is a Charlotte-based service that personally connects families with thoughtful, vetted educators for home-based learning support. We are looking for dedicated educators who want to do meaningful, relationship-driven work with children and families — on a schedule that fits their life.As a My Homeroom educator you will work directly in families' homes providing one-on-one support in one or more of the following areas:Academic tutoring in reading, writing, math, science, study skills, or other core subjects for K–12 studentsHomeschool guidance — helping families build structure, routine, and consistency in their home learning environmentEnrichment instruction in areas such as art, music, creative writing, or foreign languagesThis is not a classroom position. Sessions take place in the family's home, on a schedule you agree to directly with each family. You choose which families you work with, how many hours you take on, and when you are available.What a typical engagement looks like:One to three sessions per week with a matched familySessions are typically 60 to 180 minutesYou communicate directly with the family about schedule, goals, and progressMy Homeroom supports the match and handles payment processing so you can focus on teachingApply directly by submitting a prequalification form https://www.myhomeroom.org/educator-info.htmlQualificationsWe welcome educators from a variety of backgrounds. You do not need to hold a teaching license to apply — what matters most is your experience working with children, your subject knowledge, and your ability to build a genuine connection with families.We are looking for candidates who have:Experience working with children or students in a teaching, tutoring, or mentoring capacityStrong knowledge in at least one subject area or grade levelA warm, patient, and adaptable teaching approachReliable communication and professional follow-throughThe ability to work independently and manage your own schedulePreferred backgrounds include:Licensed or certified K–12 teachers (active or retired)College graduates or graduate students in education or a subject-specific fieldIndependent tutors with documented experienceSubject specialists, artists, or musicians with teaching experienceAll applicants must complete the My Homeroom vetting process including identity verification, a reference check, and a brief interview with our founder before being matched with any family.Compensation & ScheduleEarn 80% of every session rate — My Homeroom retains the remaining to cover platform feeTypical educator earnings range from $44 to $65 per hour depending on subject and experienceSet your own availability — work as few or as many hours as you choosePayment processed within five business days of each confirmed sessionWork with one family or several — entirely up to youThis is an independent contractor position.
