We distribute our fresh arrivals 6 days a week to restaurants, hotels, country clubs, schools, and institutions throughout Ohio, Central Pennsylvania, and Northern West Virginia. Essential Functions:
Efficiently and accurately stage trailers/trucks for loading and transport while ensuring proper temperature control
Maneuver and back trailers/trucks into loading docks, pre-trip fleet equipment including trailers, straight trucks, tractors, spotter trucks
Follow all safety protocols including, performing safety checks to secure fleet
Fuels trucks/trailer with diesel and DEF fluid as needed
Jump starting trucks when required
Check proper refrigeration set points on equipment
Work with Transportation/Warehouse Management team to ensure proper equipment is used for routes
Maintain regular and satisfactory full-time attendance
Perform work outside of normal business hours as needed and required
Perform special projects as assigned by the Transportation Manager – Sirna & Sons Produce
Competencies, Education, and Experience:
Proficiency in operating tractors, trailers and straight trucks safely and efficiently
Ability to maneuver vehicles in tight spaces and follow traffic patterns within the yard
Understanding of loading and unloading procedures, trailer hookups, and brake systems
Proper understanding and operation of refrigeration equipment
Must be able to read, write, and speak English to communicate verbally and in writing, bilingual a plus
Able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
Ability to follow directions, and willing to learn
CDL Class A license is preferred but not required, but must at least have recent verifiable experience of similar duties
At least 21 years of age
At least 1 year of truck and trailer backing experience
No more than 2 preventable accidents in the past 3 years
No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years and proven safe PSP score
Proper understanding and operation of refrigeration equipment
Schedule:
Sunday and Tuesday – Friday (Off on Mondays and Saturdays)
Start Time: Between 3:00pm – 5:00pm
Shift End Time: 3:00am – 6:00am (Varies)
Compensation:
$20.00/hour
Physical Demands:
Stand or sit for long periods of time
Kneel and stoop as needed while performing vehicle inspections
