ATC | Certified Athletic Trainer
Job Summary: This role supports collegiate athletes by providing comprehensive evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and coordination of care for musculoskeletal and neurological injuries. The position also emphasizes preventative care and education for athletes, their families, healthcare staff, and the broader community. Acting as a vital link between patients, families, physicians, and medical services, the Athletic Trainer ensures seamless communication and care delivery.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesApplied Knowledge: A broad understanding of various medical conditions is essential. Proficiency in assessment, evaluation, and collaboration with healthcare professionals is required.Decision-Making Skills: The ability to critically analyze situations and independently make informed decisions regarding treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play protocols in accordance with state licensure guidelines.Attention to Detail: Meticulous documentation and injury tracking are crucial components of this role.Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication under pressure with patients, medical staff, and families is necessary. The role demands strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask with minimal supervision.Responsibilities Provide onsite care and management of injuries and illnesses, including prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation.Assess injury risks, conduct ergonomic evaluations, and promote self-care and overall wellness.Maintain electronic documentation of all patient interactions.Develop and implement injury prevention programs tailored to individual needs.Educate athletes and staff to minimize injury risks through awareness and prevention strategies.Recommend accommodations related to sports participation for athletes with restrictions.Communicate injury status and care plans with physicians and coaching staff.Deliver medical care following established sports medicine protocols.Perform administrative duties as assigned.ExperiencePrevious experience as a collegiate Athletic Trainer is preferred.Education and Certifications Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.Board of Certification (BOC) credential required.State licensure for Athletic Trainers or progress toward obtaining licensure is necessary.Work Shift: 1st ShiftScheduled Weekly Hours: 40Location: Serving the Midwest region of the United States.
