Project Overview:
Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the M&T global business unit also includes colleagues working in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and additional project locations around the world.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will assist in interpreting and integrating health and safety requirements into project planning, design, construction, and operations. You will provide input and technical guidance, assist with communications, track performance trends, and conduct inspections and monitoring. Your work will help keep employees safe by contributing to continuous improvement of project health and safety. #LI-AM3
Major Responsibilities:
Supports execution of the safety component of an ESH Program inclusive of technical and administrative aspects.
Supports development and implementation of Safety and Health Management Plans, associated safety plans and procedures, and training program.
Assists the integration of safety and health requirements into planning, design, construction, commissioning, and operations.
Provides guidance on routine safety and health requirements and related tasks for program execution.
Helps research issues and regulatory requirements and prepare documentation and reports.
Provides assistance for safety studies, risk assessments, and other safety and health reviews.
Participates in emergency response and aids incident investigation and resolution.
Assists in identifying stakeholders and resolving their concerns.
Participates in meetings with customers, team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Conducts ESH inspections and monitoring to help identify hazards and risks, confirm the effectiveness of controls, and assess compliance with contract, regulatory, project, and Bechtel requirements.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's degree (or internationalequivalent) related to occupational safety orhealth and less than 1 year of relevantexperience or 4-5 years of relevant workexperience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Ability toresearch,interpret, and apply regulatory and organizational requirements (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).
Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing and report preparation.
Analytical skills related to sampling, monitoring, and recordkeeping.
Ability to conduct field inspections, program audits, and manage corrective actions through completion.
Proficiencywith computersto develop reports orpresentations,managedataandreports.
Demonstratedproficiencyinutilizingdigital safety management software to oversee ESH processes.
Adaptable and able to work outdoors in a field environment undervariousweather conditions.
Ability tosupportmultipleworkshifts,as needed,and a wide rangeoffield relatedtasks.
Valid driver's license.
Additional Qualifications
Experience in developing or delivering safety training or presentingto diverse audiences.
Ability to work in multicultural, multidisciplinary environments.
Knowledgeand experience withISO 45001 Management Systemand OSHAstandards.
Professional certification (e.g.,ASP, OHST,CSP, CIH) or progress toward certification is highly desirable.
Broad technical knowledge, science skills, and technical writing abilities.
