Product Manager Location: Creve Coeur, MO (Remote)Key Responsibilities Platform Ownership & Strategy Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for internal services, such as account hierarchy infrastructure. Operate with an ownership mindset — take initiative, make decisions, and drive outcomes without waiting for direction Shape the multi-PI direction of owned platforms, balancing new capability development, technical debt reduction, and adoption Monitor relevant technical trends and emerging technologies to inform product vision and collaboration Build and communicate a compelling narrative for platform investments to leadership and stakeholdersSAFe Planning & Backlog Management: Author high-quality Features and User Stories with quantified problem statements, measurable outcomes, clear scope boundaries, testable acceptance criteria, identified dependencies, and mitigations. Lead Feature and Story decomposition — breaking platform capabilities into well-scoped, ready-to-execute work that is prioritized using frameworks such as ICE (Impact, Confidence, Ease).Own Execution Readiness: Drive PI Planning preparation; maintain a healthy team backlog with clear prioritization, resolved dependencies, and well-refined and sequenced work prior to sprint execution.Architecture Alignment & Technical Design: Partner with architects and senior engineers on technical design reviews Reduce the cognitive and coordination load on senior engineers by driving clarity on requirements, trade-offs, and cross-team dependencies Understand and contribute to discussions on authentication protocols (OAuth, OIDC, SAML), authorization models (RBAC, ABAC), and security patterns Ensure technical decisions are well-documented and aligned with enterprise architecture, security requirements, and compliance standardsStakeholder Management & Cross-ART Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for owned platform capabilities across all 7 ARTs Communicate platform capabilities, changes, and migration paths Facilitate the creation and maintenance of product documentation, including platform vision, capability guardrails, and onboarding guides Engage credibly with Enterprise Architects, Security teams, and engineering leadership Drive consuming teams to execution, identifying and resolving blockers to their adoption, and holding teams accountable to committed timelinesDeveloper Experience & Adoption: Drive adoption of platform capabilities across the organization Measure and improve the developer experience for teams integrating with your platforms Track adoption metrics, usage patterns, and customer satisfaction Identify and remove friction points in platform consumptionMetrics & Continuous Improvement: Define and track success metrics for identity and access platforms (adoption rate*** integration time, incident rates, developer satisfaction) Contribute to operational visibility through dashboards and data-driven decision-making Participate in business reviews and roadmap readouts with leadershipQualifications: Required: 5 years of experience as a Technical Product Manager, Product Owner, or equivalent role in software/platform engineering Demonstrated experience owning and driving strategy for internal platform products or shared services Strong technical fluency in identity and access management concepts (authentication, authorization, SSO, OIDC/OAuth, RBAC/ABAC) or comparable platform domains Comfortable reading and reasoning about code — able to review pull requests, understand system behavior from source, and engage in technical discussions grounded in implementation detail Proven ability to write high-quality product artifacts — Features, User Stories, acceptance criteria (GIVEN/WHEN/THEN), and technical requirements Experience with Agile backlog management tools (Azure DevOps preferred; Jira, Rally, or equivalent acceptable) Ability to engage in architectural discussions and reduce the coordination burden on senior engineers Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences Self-starter with a track record of taking initiative and driving outcomes in ambiguous environmentsPreferred: Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) — PI Planning, ART ceremonies, Feature/Story decomposition Background in cloud-native platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD pipelines, or infrastructure-as-code Experience with identity providers and access management systems (Okta, Auth0, AWS IAM, Azure AD, Keycloak, etc.) Familiarity with security compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, data governance) Experience building platform adoption strategies — go-to-market for internal tools, developer onboarding, migration playbooks Proficiency with GenAI tools and AI-assisted workflows (GitHub Copilot, AI agents, prompt engineering) for accelerating product management work Experience with Datadog, observability platforms, or data-driven engineering practices Education: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field required • Advanced degree (MBA, MS) or equivalent experience preferredSkills / Behavioral Characteristics: Thinks and acts like a platform owner — proactively identifies problems, proposes solutions, and drives execution Comfortable making trade-off decisions and defending them to technical and non-technical stakeholders Can participate meaningfully in architecture and design discussions without relying on engineers to translate Articulates platform value and technical concepts clearly to audiences ranging from junior developers to enterprise architects Delivers on commitments — PI plans, roadmap milestones, stakeholder promises; brings structure to ambiguity Works effectively across organizational boundaries in a organizational model where empowered teams drive decisions
