Product Manager
Our client a well established financial services firm is looking to hire a Product Manager to take their exisiting internal live coding tool/platform from good to great. This is a long term (12 months to start) contract to hire. Onsite 4 days a week in midtown NYC. Ideally would love someone from a large established tech firm (FAANG/MAANG).About the RoleThe firm’s internal live coding tool is a critical analytical platform that underpins how analysts, engineers, and researchers build, deploy, and operate software. It spans development environments, deployment infrastructure, data connectivity, secrets management, authentication, application templating, and cloud storage APIs.As the sole Product Manager for this internal live coding tool, you will own the product strategy, roadmap, and day-to-day execution for a platform that is both broad in scope and essential to firm-wide productivity.This is a highly hands-on role. You will write detailed requirements, manage a JIRA backlog, coordinate cross-functional delivery, and serve as the primary point of contact between the platform engineering team and its internal user base. Success requires the ability to context-switch across multiple technical workstreams while maintaining depth and precision.Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Strategy & RoadmapOwn the product roadmap; prioritize features, infrastructure improvements, and technical-debt reduction across all platform workstreamsTranslate business objectives and user pain points into a sequenced delivery plan with clearly defined outcomesEvaluate trade-offs between new capabilities, platform stability, and governance requirements, and clearly communicate decisionsRequirements & Delivery ExecutionWrite detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements in JIRA; maintain a sprint-ready backlogPartner with engineering leads to scope work, estimate effort, and track deliveryLead cross-functional initiatives across engineering, compliance, HR, and investment teamsStakeholder Engagement & CommunicationServe as the primary liaison between platform engineering and internal usersRun regular office hours to gather feedback and communicate updatesProvide roadmap and status updates to senior leadershipDocumentation, Enablement & OnboardingDevelop and maintain documentation, guides, and training materialsSupport onboarding to ensure new hires can effectively use the platformDrive adoption through enablement initiatives and ongoing user educationRequired Qualifications3–6 years of Product Management experience, including internal platforms or developer toolsStrong understanding of AI concepts and toolingExperience managing JIRA backlogs and writing detailed requirementsFamiliarity with APIs, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), CI/CD, containers, and data systemsExcellent communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholdersProven ability to operate independently across multiple concurrent workstreamsExposure to financial services environments and regulatory considerationsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Snowflake, Python ecosystems, or enterprise authentication systems (SAML, OAuth, SSO)Why This RoleThis is a unique opportunity to own and shape a foundational platform that directly impacts how the entire organization builds and delivers technology.
