Data Engineer

The Company Infinia ML, based in the Raleigh-Durham area, is an AI company specializing in automating workflows in healthcare. Infinia ML is part of Aspirion, a leading provider of complex claims and denials management services. Aspirion helps hospitals and healthcare systems minimize patient burden by maximizing reimbursement from insurance companies. Infinia ML has developed a versatile and standardized platform for processing written content in documents, such as medical records, insurance claims, correspondence and more leveraging the power of ML, including LLMs. We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our Data Science team and help support the delivery of AI-enabled solutions to transform our business.The Role We are seeking a Data Engineer with experience in healthcare data management and a strong understanding of data governance principles. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and generating operational KPIs for stakeholders. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, and an understanding of healthcare data compliance and regulations.Key Responsibilities:Data Pipeline Development and Maintenance:Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines to ingest, process, and store healthcare data from various sources.Implement data transformation and integration processes to ensure data is accurate, consistent, and available for analysis and reporting.Data Governance and Compliance:Ensure adherence to data governance policies, standards, and best practices to maintain data integrity and security.Implement data quality checks and validation processes to guarantee data accuracy and reliability.Stay up-to-date with healthcare data regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and ensure compliance in all data processing activities.KPI Reporting:Develop and automate the generation of operational KPIs for stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.Collaborate cross-functionally with different stakeholders and teams to define and refine KPI metrics and reporting requirements.Create data visualizations and dashboards to present KPI results in an accessible and actionable manner.Collaboration and Support:Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and provide necessary support.Assist in the troubleshooting and resolution of data-related issues and discrepancies.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.Proven experience as a Data EngineerStrong proficiency in SQL and experience with database technologies. Proficiency in Python programming.Experience with Linux.Experience with cloud environments, e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.Experience with data visualization, e.g. PowerBI, Tableau.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.Must be a US citizen or a Green Card HolderThis is a remote position, but local candidates are preferredPreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of healthcare data standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HL7, FHIR) is highly desirable.Prior experience in the healthcare industry
