Radiation Oncologist - Locum Tenens Opportunity Near Worcester, MA We are seeking an experienced Radiation Oncologist for a locum tenens position near Worcester, MA. This opportunity offers a flexible schedule and involves providing both inpatient and outpatient care. You will play a critical role in covering gaps while we recruit a permanent provider, ensuring that patients receive the high-quality care they need.Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive radiation oncology care to both inpatient and outpatient populations.Perform required procedures, including:Conventional Radiotherapy3D Conformal Radiotherapy (3D-CRT)Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT)Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT)Fractionated Stereotactic RadiotherapyManage an outpatient caseload of approximately 25 patients per day.Handle inpatient consults, treatment planning, weekly on-treatment visits, and follow-ups.Participate in weekly Tumor Boards, contributing to the multidisciplinary care team.Collaborate with two other Radiation Oncologists and one Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to deliver optimal patient care.Utilize Meditech/Mosaiq EMR systems for accurate and timely documentation.Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging, and prescribe appropriate treatments.Maintain excellent communication with patients, staff, and multidisciplinary teams.Schedule and Details: Clinic HoursMonday to Friday, 7:30 AM 4:00 PM.Weekend Call48-hour weekend call every other weekend (8:00 AM Saturday to 8:00 AM Monday).LocationNear Worcester, MA.Start DateASAP.End DateOngoing, through summer 2025.Practice SettingInpatient and outpatient.Call RatioEvery other weekend.CredentialingApproximately 60 days.Local Provider PreferredOnly mileage will be reimbursed.Qualifications: RequiredBoard-Certified or Board-Eligible Radiation Oncologist with an active or pending Massachusetts license.LicensesActive DEA and Massachusetts controlled substance license required.ExperienceProficiency in radiation techniques such as 3D conformal, IMRT, SBRT, and SRS (no brachytherapy required).PreferredExperience with Pinnacle, Velocity, Mosaiq, and Epic software.SkillsStrong communication skills, ability to work well with patients and staff, and prompt, accurate documentation in the EMR.This locum tenens role is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Radiation Oncologist looking to provide essential care in a flexible, supportive environment.
