In our multidisciplinary, team-based environment, collaboration is key among a talented group of architects, project managers, interior designers, planners, and technologists, who work together to create innovative and integrated solutions for a wide range of clients. Our services include architecture, interior design, and planning for a wide variety of sectors.We are seeking energetic, outgoing, personable candidates for our summer 2026 internship program in downtown San Francisco, with excellent design, graphics, organizational and communication skills. Stantec's Buildings Internship Program is designed to give you the best internship experience possible through working on local projects and collaborate with designers, planners, engineers, project managers and technical leaders to explore the frontiers of design. Opportunities for our architecture / computational design interns include hands-on experience working on active projects, site visits, educational lunch and learns/seminars, and participation in internal design presentations and dialogues.Additionally, you will participate in Stantec's Intern Design Project, an integrated team design project for a real client. You will be teaming with other interns in architecture, engineering, interiors, lighting design, and specialty services in North America to design and deliver cutting-edge and sustainable design solutions that excels our clients' needs.Your Key ResponsibilitiesSupport project teams with parametric and computational workflows.Support multi-disciplinary teams in developing designs, schematic sketches/diagrams, and documentation drawings leveraging computational design tools.Develop and modify Grasshopper definitions for:Geometry generationDesign iteration and explorationRationalization and documentationProduce diagrams, visuals, and scripts to communicate computational ideas.Assist with research and/or the development of prototype tools.Assist in the preparation of design presentations.Utilize BIM software as a tool for design drawings.Create design deliverables and provide marketing and business development support, including graphic design and PowerPoint.Effective teaming within the project team and consultants.Pay Range$21.01 - $30.89 HourlyRequirements (Education, Level of Experience, etc.)Your Capabilities and CredentialsFamiliarity in Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper and/or Dynamo. Experience with Rhino.inside preferred.Solid knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Microsoft Office is essential.Strong design thinking and spatial reasoning.Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others.Ability to work in an energetic and challenging work environment.This position requires in-person site visits in or around the San Francisco Bay Area.Must be able to work remotely when necessary.*Please include a portfolio with your submission. Projects that highlight computational design workflows and outcomes preferred. *Education and ExperienceWorking toward a BA or BS in Architecture, Bachelor of Architecture, or Master of Architecture degree. Please note: We are looking for someone who is currently pursuing an Architectural degree from an accredited school.
