The position independently advises and serves asa liaison with students, scholars, as well as academic andadministrative departments regarding immigration status and overallimmigration strategy. It serves as a co-lead support and resource forstaff, faculty, and administration on scholar-based immigration andintercultural issues.This position serves as a liaison with outside legal counsel and worksdirectly with campus departments and international scholars seeking tocome to Kansas State University under the following visa types: J-1,H-1B, TN, E-3, O, and U.S. permanent residency.This position ensures compliance with mandatory health insurancerequirements for the J-1 Scholar Program as set forth by the U.S.Department of State, as well as health insurance requirements for F-1and J-1 students in accordance with Kansas Board of Regents policy.****About Us****The International Student and Scholar Services office (ISSS) providesessential immigration services for over 2200 international students andscholars from over 100 countries who are involved in educationalprograms or research at K-State. Additionally, ISSS welcomes countlessAmerican students, faculty, staff and community members in theexploration of other cultures and the celebration of internationalfestivities.****Worksite Description****This position is **On-site**.All employees must reside in the United States when they begin workingto comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybridwork opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.****What You\'ll Need to Succeed****Minimum Qualifications Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and seven years ofRelevant Experience. Requirements May Be Met Through a Combinationof work experience and education.Preferred Qualifications Master\'s degree Extensive and in-depth knowledge related to advising internationalstudents (F-1 & J-1) and scholars (J-1 exchange visitors, H-1B andOther Visa Categories.
