They will advise and adjudicate behavioraland conduct related reports, both for individuals and organizations.The Assistant Dean is a front-line professional who works with students,families, and faculty/staff to assist and support students with problemsand help them be successful at K-State. This position requires anin-depth understanding of university policies and procedures, includingpolicies related to federal compliance and accessibility.The Assistant Dean consults with academic deans when determining causefor a student\'s withdrawal from and/or reinstatement to the university.An in-depth understanding of crisis response techniques andde-escalation skills as well as concise communications with allconstituents is required. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybridwork opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.****What You\'ll Need to Succeed****Minimum Qualifications Master\'s degree One year of relevant experience.Education beyond the minimum degree requirement may count towardrequired experience if deemed relevant by the hiring manager. Thedegree requirement ensures candidates possess an advancedunderstanding of student development, crisis management andinstitutional policy along with the theoretical and practicalfoundation necessary to support students in high-stakes situations,contribute to retention strategies and collaborate effectively withcampus leadership. These competencies are typically developed andrigorously validated only through the comprehensive curriculum andintensive experiential learning inherent in a formal degree program.Preferred Qualifications Experience in higher education student affairs, counseling orrelated field 5-7 years of experience working in higher education providingassistance and support to students. Experience with conduct or advising a judicial program.
