Hawaii Works, Inc., specializes in concrete and site work construction services, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in analyzing project proposals, blueprints, and specifications to accurately estimate costs and timelines, directly impacting our project profitability and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Develop comprehensive estimates and bids for construction projects. Maintain and update a cost history library, including crew hours by activity. Ensure bid accuracy and profitability through meticulous review and submission processes. Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits, completing all required documentation. Analyze plans and specifications to understand project requirements. Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, securing multiple quotes for each trade. Submit and manage bid documentation. Attend bid openings, record outcomes, and report to management. Support project handoff by creating budgets, scorecards, and procurement plans. Collaborate with the General Manager and Project Manager on non-bid initiatives. Qualifications: Demonstrated experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role. Proficiency with Excel and strong skills in developing and managing spreadsheets. Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and specifications. Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
