Project Engineer
The Project Engineer assists the Project Manager as part of the Project Team for a variety of commercial roofing and waterproofing projects. The Project Engineer will perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager, and reports directly to the Project Manager. Qualifications Working knowledge of BlueBeam and Adobe preferred. Procore and Autodesk Forma a plus Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to plan and organize tasks, effective written and verbal communication skills and function under pressure or time limitations Prior practical construction experience highly desired Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree or completion of Construction Management Certificate Program or equivalent highly desired. Mathematics, Science, and other related degrees preferred as alternate degrees. Minimum 3 years practical construction experience if no related college degree. Benefits Salary Range - $55,000 to $80,000/yr. Primary Functions and Responsibilities 1. Administrative Support a. Manage and update project documentation, including plans, schedules, and reports. b. Attend subcontractor meetings, take notes, and distribute to Project Supervisor and Project Manager c. Assist in reviewing foreman time sheets for accurate cost code, phasing, and tracking 2. Project Coordination a. Assist in coordination of project tasks, ensuring production plans are followed within the project timeline b. Liaise with suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution 3. Documentation and Compliance a. Assist with project specific document requirements, such as Daily Manpower Sheets and other requirements by the General Contractor b. Maintain the Job Status Report for all jobs assigned to the Project Team, ensuring submittals and material status are logged c. Assist Project Manager in completing submittal requirements and shop drawings d. RFI and Submittal Logs per Project 4. Resource Management a. Help in the allocation and tracking of project resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment b. Monitor project budgets, assist in cost estimation, and report on financial aspects of the project 5. Quality and Safety Oversight a. Assist in completion of Activity Hazard Analysis for each project specific scope b. Support in implementing and maintaining quality control measures and safety protocols on-site 6. Problem Resolution a. Assist in identifying issues or delays and help in devising solutions or alternative plans – problem solving b. Participate in resolving disputes or misunderstandings with suppliers and general contractors c. Provide support to Project Supervisors/Superintendents required for the execution of the project and assist in resolution of field problems as necessary 7. On-site Assistance a. Occasionally visit construction sites to assist with on-the-ground coordination, verify progress, or deliver documents and instructions 8. Training and Development a. Participate in or organize training sessions for project team members on new tools, software, or processes. b. Stay informed about industry trends, construction techniques, materials, or project management methodologies 9. Support in Project Closeout a. Help compile and review project closeout documents, including warranties, operation manuals, as-built warranties, and other requirements 10. Vendor and Subcontractor Liaison a. Manage relationships with vendors and manufacturer technical representatives, ensuring timely delivery of material and services 11. Miscellaneous Tasks a. Perform other administrative duties as required. b. Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager
