Our team is dedicated to delivering high‑performance mechanical systems while fostering long‑term relationships through collaborative and cost‑effective solutions.Position DescriptionComfort Systems USA Mid South is currently seeking a highly motivated, ethical, and safety‑oriented Pipefitter Apprentice II to support our commercial HVAC and piping operations.This role is ideal for an apprentice who has foundational pipefitting experience and is ready to take the next step in their development by working more independently while continuing to learn under the guidance of experienced pipefitters and foremen. Work will be performed in both field and pipe shop environments, supporting commercial construction and retrofit projects.This position offers a strong pathway for advancement into Pipefitter Apprentice III and Journeyman‑level roles.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist senior pipefitters with the installation, modification, and repair of commercial piping systemsInstall carbon steel, copper, and other piping materials under supervision and in accordance with applicable codes and standardsAssist with pipe fitting, layout, measuring, and cutting of materialsPerform basic pipe welding and fit‑up tasks as assignedSupport installation of mechanical equipment such as pumps, boilers, chillers, and related systemsRead and interpret basic blueprints, drawings, and piping schematicsSafely operate hand tools and power tools used in pipefitting activitiesMaintain proper housekeeping and follow all jobsite safety requirementsCollaborate effectively with other trades and project team membersDemonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a strong commitment to safetyPerform other duties as assigned by supervisors or project leadershipQualifications & RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 1–2 years of pipefitting or related HVAC trade experience in a commercial construction environmentBasic understanding of commercial HVAC and piping systems (chilled water, hot water, hydronic piping, etc.)Basic piping math skills and ability to accurately measure materialsAbility to read and interpret basic blueprints and drawingsFamiliarity with common hand and power toolsBasic welding knowledge or willingness to learn (welding certifications are a plus but not required at this level)Ability to lift 25–50 poundsValid driver’s license and ability to meet company driver qualification requirementsPunctual and dependable attendanceWillingness to follow all company policies and proceduresAbility to pass a background check and drug screening in accordance with company policyAbility to pass a pre‑employment physical / fitness assessmentWe Are Proud To Offer Our Team MembersCompetitive pay and incentivesMedical, Vision, and Dental insurancePaid holidays and flexible, generous PTO – 2 weeks after 90 days, with the opportunity to gain up to 5 weeks401(k) Plan with multiple investment optionsTraining and Development ProgramsCompany-paid Employee Assistance ProgramEmployee discount programsCompany-paid and voluntary life insuranceCompany-paid and voluntary accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D)Company-paid short-term disability and voluntary long-term disabilityHealthcare reimbursement account and dependent care reimbursement accountHealth savings account with company contributionsVehicle discount purchase programsDisclaimerThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this job.
