Human Resource Director

Principal Objective Of PositionThe Human Resource Director is responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource function.Essential FunctionsThe following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.Oversee the benefits program, including coordination of 401(k) and Pension plan audits and administration, and annually reviewing and recommending changes to the benefits plansAnnually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures, and practices on Human Resources mattersMaintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization's complianceMaintains responsibility for organization compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all employment mattersAssists executive management in the annual review, preparation, and administration of the organization's wage and salary programConsults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the COO, on employment or employee relations mattersServes as a Business Partner to Department Managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on employment mattersRecommends, evaluates, and participates in staff development for the organizationDevelops and maintains a human resource information system that meets the organization's employment information needsSupervises the staff of the Human Resource departmentConducts cost savings analysis to ensure all Human Resources related vendor contracts are the most competitiveOther ResponsibilitiesCommunicates changes in the organization's employment policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separationsParticipates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilitiesOther duties as assignedEducation And Experience RequiredBachelor’s degree and 10 years of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities RequiredBroad knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, and training and developmentExcellent interpersonal and coaching skillsDemonstrated ability to interact effectively with the company executivesExcellent organizational skillsExperience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programsAbove average oral and written communication skills, both with co-workers and over the telephone with outside and company personnelPreferred QualificationsMaster’s degree, preferred Work EnvironmentThe HR Director operates in a professional office environment. This position uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
