Infrastructure & Security Engineer (6 month contract to hire - Gainesville, GA)

We are seeking a well-rounded Infrastructure & Security Engineer to support a short-term engagement with one of our customers. This role will focus on auditing and securing the client's existing environment after a recent internal transition. The ideal candidate is a hands-on "jack-of-all-trades" technologist with experience across infrastructure, networking, security, and cloud technologies.This engagement will primarily involve assessing current systems, identifying potential security gaps, and helping implement remediation actions across the environment.Located near Gainesville, GA is preferred within a comofrtable commuteKey ResponsibilitiesPerform a security and infrastructure audit to identify potential vulnerabilities, backdoors, or misconfigurationsReview and strengthen identity and access management controlsEvaluate and improve MFA and endpoint security configurationsAssess existing networking infrastructure and recommend improvementsAssist with remediation and hardening of systems across cloud and on-prem environmentsDocument findings and provide recommendations to the internal IT teamRequired Technical ExperienceStrong experience with Microsoft 365 administration and security7–10 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, networking, and security rolesExperience working with Azure environmentsExperience supporting hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud)Strong networking fundamentals including routing, switching, and core network protocolsExperience with VMware virtualizationExperience implementing or managing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) solutionsFamiliarity with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) identity and access managementPreferred ExperienceExperience with Ubiquiti networking infrastructureFamiliarity with UniFi controllers and gatewaysExperience with security and monitoring tools such as: Microsoft Defender, SentinelOne, Darktrace, Arctic WolfJ-18808-Ljbffr
