As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and motivated First Party Property Attorney to join our team and make a meaningful impact on the clients we serve.Position SummaryThe First Party Property Attorney will manage a full caseload of insurance coverage disputes, guiding clients from initial intake through final resolution. This role requires a self-directed litigator who can independently handle all phases of the litigation process while maintaining high standards of client communication and professionalism. The ideal candidate brings substantive first-party property experience, great courtroom instincts, strong negotiation skills, and a genuine commitment to client advocacy.Key ResponsibilitiesManage an active caseload of first-party property insurance matters from filing through resolution, including coverage analysis, discovery, and trial.Analyze insurance policies, claim files, and property damage assessments to develop effective litigation strategies.Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents with precision and timeliness.Conduct depositions, attend hearings, and represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and trials.Negotiate directly with insurance carriers and opposing counsel to secure favorable outcomes for clients.Maintain consistent, proactive communication with clients throughout the litigation process, providing clear and compassionate updates on case status.Collaborate with support staff, paralegals, and firm leadership to ensure efficient case management and quality control.Qualifications & RequirementsActive membership in the State Bar of Texas in good standing (required).Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience; first-party property insurance experience strongly preferred.Demonstrated ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload across all stages of litigation.Strong command of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and relevant insurance law.Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills, with experience drafting complex litigation documents.Superior negotiation skills with a results-oriented approach.Highly organized with keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.Proficiency with legal practice management software and electronic filing platforms.Unwavering commitment to client service and professional ethics.Compensation & BenefitsPayne Law, PLLC offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including:Competitive base salary with performance-based bonus eligibilityHealth, dental, and vision insuranceLife insurance coverage401(k) retirement planPaid time off and firm holidaysFully remote work arrangement
