Position Overview
The Litigation Secretary will play a key role in supporting legal operations by managing administrative and coordination tasks. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced litigation environment.
Key Responsibilities
Answer and direct incoming call in a professional and courteous manner
Schedule depositions for parties and non-party witnesses
Organize, scan, and manage incoming mail and legal documents
Maintain accurate records and documentation
Communicate with clients, attorneys, and opposing counsel via phone and email
Follow up on pending tasks and inquiries in a timely manner
Support administrative and litigation-related processes as required
Required Qualifications
Strong keyboarding and computer proficiency
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in aplaintiff-side personal injury and/or medical malpractice law firmin New York State
Familiarity with litigation procedures, including deposition scheduling
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $50,000 $60,000 per year (based on experience)
