The need is for someone who understands and can coachproduct managers(not product owners) inmodern product practices . 2. Deep Understanding of the Product Operating Model Candidate must be fluent in: Continuous Strategy Must understand thatproduct teams own outcomes , not just delivery tasks. Teams consist of aProduct Manager ,Tech Lead , andDesigner— accountable for discovery, not stakeholders or the business. 3. Must Be Able to Coach Strategically Teachstrategic thinking , not just tactical execution. Help product managers evolve from “backlog managers” tooutcome owners . Must have experiencecoaching product managers new to the role . (how would you guide them and what would you guide them on) 4. Real Product Discovery Knowledge Understand how tocoach on discovery techniques : Opportunity Solution Tree Outcome-based roadmaps Understanding product risks and who owns them Must have experience applying these tools in enterprise environments. 5. Cultural Fit and Delivery Style Should challenge assumptions, not just recite frameworks. No “checklist coaching” — they wantpractitioners who think critically . Must valuetime , be aligned, and work efficiently with high standards. How The Teams Think: 1. Forward-Thinking & Conceptual Must thinkbeyond Agile— Agile is seen as outdated or insufficient alone. Product thinking is aboutchanging how you build, solve, and prioritize . Looking for someone who sees and adapts towhere the industry is going , not where it’s been. 2. Product as a Mindset, Not a Framework It's not about Scrum or SAFe or agile ceremonies. It’s about understanding thebusiness model shiftto product-centric thinking. 3. Strategic Business Alignment Candidate should know how to coach teams to align withbusiness outcomesand customer value. Must understand how tonavigate internal politics , especially between business and tech stakeholders. Can help orgstransition from project to product fundingand thinking.
