Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience preferred License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: - ICU experience - Experience floating to ICU - Patient ratio experience 1:4-5 - Travel experience preferred Description: Four day shift PCU travelers needed. Must have ICU experience as travelers will be floated to the ICU. Floating is required across step down, ICU, and medical surgical units. Scrubs must be royal blue and white. Daily patient census varies. Unit offers 20 beds with a patient ratio of 1:4-5. Non-titrating drips include Amiodarone, NTG, Cardizem, Lopressor, and Cardene. Typical patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, respiratory failure, pneumonia, post cath care, cardiac arrhythmias, and CIWA. Special procedures include post-cardiac catheterization, femoral popliteal artery procedures, and peritoneal dialysis. Special equipment utilized includes BiPAP and dialysis machines. Interdisciplinary support is available, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Expect to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staff. High patient care ratios and floating will occur within the facility.
